ICT Validation of Teacher-Applicants




The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Validation of Teacher-Applicants in the Division of Leyte both in Elementary and Secondary was held at the Computer Laboratory of Palo National High School last March 20 – 23, 2012. There are 60 total number of assessed applicants in the elementary while 30 for the secondary.

Skills validation is part of screening the applicants to test their competency in using computer, particularly in Microsoft programs such as MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint.

Basic instructions were given to test their skills. For each program. They were given 5 minutes to complete the tasks. In MS Word, they were required to make an application letter to the schools division superintendent. In MS Excel they created a simple gradesheet with a correct formula in a computation. And in MS Powerpoint, 1 slide presentation was created.

The highest possible points in the ICT Validation is 5 points and most of the applicants tested got the highest score based on the ratings given by the facilitator, the ICT Coordinator of Palo National High School, Mr. Ernani S. Fernandez.

Since Palo National High School has the biggest number of teacher-applicants to be assessed, the ICT Coordinator asked the assistance of the Innovative Classroom Tutors (ICT), the students who lead the school in ICT, headed by the President and the Vice-President of the Club, Djan Chris M. Bunao, IV – SPED student, and Brian Jay Patawaran, IV – Quezon (1st section regular class), respectively.

With this, the ICT Validation had undergone in an effortless process.
