Top 30 National Teachers join Peer Coaching Training

With Globe Telecom ongoing education program, Global Filipino Teachers (GFT), top 30 teachers in the country participated in the Peer Coaching Training sponsored by Globe in partnership with Coalition for Better Education (CBE) as a training institute and the Department of Education (DepEd) last August 1 – 3, 2012 at Ceftex, Cebu Normal University, Cebu City.

The top 30 participants consist of the GFTs who won in the Metrobank search for most outstanding teachers, Marivi L. Castro of Gensan SPED Integrated School and Galcoso C. Alburo of Concepcion Integrated School at Marikina City. 

Shateen D. Seraña, winner of ITLA7 search, a GFT from Taluksanga National High School, Zamboanga City, won 1^st Place in the Microsoft Partners in Learning Innovative Teachers Leadership Award at Auckland, New Zealand and will compete this November 2012 at Athens, Greece for the World competition of innovative teachers.

Among others were the ITLA7 finalists, Ernani S. Fernandez of Palo National High School, Janet D. Barredo of ICT High School, Erliza L. Matacot of Dasmariñas East High School, Lorelee D. Asignacion of Bata National High School, Lolita T. Rivera of Siaton National High School, Pilita C. Elumir of Jose Mari Locsin Memorial High School and Cherry May M. Foronda of Don Manuel Javellana Memorial National High School.

These teachers are committed to spread the use ICT for education and continue the Global Filipino Teachers Program.
